Since 1971, EDM Zap has been solving precision manufacturing challenges for aerospace, medical, nuclear, and industrial customers across five continents.
Our Story
EDM Zap was founded with a single focus: build better EDM power supplies and provide better service than anyone else in the industry. That focus hasn’t changed.
In the early 2000s, EDM Zap developed the Advantage series of EDM power supplies — CNC and the E-Series for the energy sector — earning a reputation for reliability and performance in demanding production environments.
As customers’ needs grew beyond standard equipment, EDM Zap began designing and building fully custom EDM machines and automation cells — engineered from the ground up for specific parts, processes, and cycle time targets.
Today EDM Zap serves customers across North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond. Whether it’s a field service call in the midwest or a custom machine shipping overseas, the standard of engineering and support remains the same.
There are a lot of EDM companies. Very few of them have been at it since 1971, built their own power supplies, designed custom machines for customers on five continents, and still pick up the phone when something breaks down.
We’re not a distributor. We’re not a reseller. EDM Zap engineers and manufactures its own equipment, and our service technicians are the same people who understand that equipment at a component level — which means faster diagnosis, better repairs, and solutions that actually stick.
Our customers stay with us for decades. Not because of contracts, but because when you have an EDM problem — whether it’s a failed power supply at 2 AM or a process that needs to go from 5 minutes to 1 — we solve it!
